David Lochead, 1929-2016

Passed away peacefully on January 8, 2016 in his 87th year, after a valiant and extremely courageous battle with cancer. David has left us to be reunited with the true love of his life, best friend and wife of 50 years, Ann (nee Dalgleish) and his son Bryan. David was born in London, Ontario and after being raised in Forest, Ontario, he graduated from Royal Roads Canadian Services College in Victoria, British Columbia, and Royal Military College, and Queens University in Kingston, Ontario. While attending Queens University he earned a BSc in Electrical Engineering. He is a retired Lieutenant Commander from the Royal Canadian Navy, and after 25 years of service as an electrical officer, he continued his career working for two consulting firms in Ottawa. David was very actively involved, for over 30 years, in the Kiwanis club of Manotick, where he was honoured to hold such positions as Club President, Lieutenant Governor, and Division 13 lead for District Children’s project. For the past eleven years David was an active member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Winchester. Over the years he enjoyed seeing many parts of the world through his travels while in the Navy, attending Kiwanis Conventions, and taking many personal trips with family and friends. He was fondly loved and deeply respected by all who met and knew him.
