Each year, the Kiwanis Club of Manotick organizes, sponsors or provides support for a number of community events that have become traditions within the community and favourites among our club members. Some of these events are listed below.
Dickinson Days is the annual village festival celebrating the founder of Manotick, Moss Kent Dickinson. It is our Club's Signature Project. In Kiwanis a Signature Project is a high-impact, recurring service project or fundraiser that defines a club's image in its community. These projects are designed to be, or have the potential to become, annual events that demonstrate significant, measurable impact on children and the community while strengthening club membership.
The Kiwanis Club of Manotick takes great pride in organizing Dickinson Days each year with the support of other community groups including Manotick Business Improvement Area (BIA), Manotick Village Community Association (MVCA), Watson's Mill and others.
The weekend festival includes a Parade, Fireworks, Pancake Breakfast, Craft Market, Fishing Derby, Games, Local Entertainment , a BBQ. and more.
In 2026, Dickinson Days will be bigger and better than ever as we will be celebrating its 50th anniversary. It will take place June 4 -7, 2026. More details can be found at Dickinson Days 2026 .
The Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast is one of the favourite family activities of the annual Shiverfest celebration hosted each year by the Manotick Village and Community Association (MVCA).
This year's event will be held on Feb 7th from 8:00 - 11:00 am in the Kiwanis Hall, 2nd floor at the Manotick Community Centre.
If you are coming to eat you can pay at the door. $8 per person, $5 for children age 3-10 and infants from newborn to age 2 eat free.
The Kiwanis Music Festival has been running continuously since 1945 and has been organized by Kiwanis since 1985. Working with the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa, our Manotick Club oversees the Musical Theatre portion of the competition.
This year's event will be held on April 12 - 18th, at the City View United Church.
The Christmas season in Manotick is kicked off each year with the Kiwanis Parade of Lights. Marching bands, dance groups and decorated floats lead the way with Santa making a special appearance to the delight of hundreds of children lining the streets. The Kiwanis Club of Manotick is one of the proud sponsors of the annual Allan Haan Manotick Soapbox Derby held each August in the village. The competition is a family favorite and is followed by a Picnic in the Park organized by the MVCA. For more details, see MVCA's website
